A lot of your ideas are great! Your music reminds me a lot of the folk-style that musicians play at open mics or in small coffee bars, etc... In some ways I kind of felt jerked around while listening to some of the tunes because there really wasn't any sensical transitions between parts. I'm sure the production quality had something to do with it, but making your songs "flow" would really help people feel your music a bit more. I've got to give you props for the roots sound, though
Off-kilter, out-of-tune guitars, lurching from one part to the next, beatbox rhythms . . . I like! You're staking out your own musical territory and that's cool. Your music enters the Theatre of the Surreal but you need to match it up your lyrics more; have fun with rhymes, get crazy with imagery. Add a Beat or Dada sensibility into your lyrics. Try to get more "out there." I'd also be interested in hearing your stuff when it's played with other like-minded musicians. Could get some freaky textures in there. Keep making music. Cheers
Reminds a bit like beck and bob dylan nice loose feeling but very tight and very eccentric sounding must be the air in nebraska good to see musicians who are not in uni with a kurt cobain complex and still rock excellent
I told myself I was only going to listen to one or two songs, but before I knew it, I had listened to them all! I love your style, it's not something you hear too much of. Reminded me a lot of the style used by the band "Bright Eyes" if you're familiar with Conor Oberst's work. Definitely keep cranking out the tunes, I'll be returning often to look for more!
I really liked the way the songs start off and you have a set apart sound, for me on slim to none and expect it, the tunes kinda built themselves out and i was expecting all of a sudden guitars slamming and make the song explod so in that fact those 2 never sounded to me how i felt they should but thats just me, slutty was all around pretty well done, on the guitar work i really like the sound of it it's more set apart from most guitars in songs. i think you need to work between the harmony between the vocals and melodys, cause that would add to the songs. but overal i'm feeling the tracks and enjoyed them
enjoyed them
